Award Categories
Energy Independence Award
To recognize a public or private fleet operating in Michigan that has demonstrated the greatest percentage reduction in petroleum consumption over the past year relative to the previous year through the usage of alternative fuels, alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles, idle reduction technologies or practices, or fuel economy practices.
Small Business1 Clean Transportation & Leadership Award
To recognize a Michigan-based small business that has demonstrated commitment to clean transportation through its products, community leadership, and innovative programs to encourage clean alternatives.
Corporate Clean Transportation Leadership Award
To recognize the corporation operating in Michigan that has demonstrated dedicated commitment to clean transportation through its products, community leadership, and innovative programs.
Clean Transportation Technology Innovation Award
Open to corporations and research institutions operating in Michigan involved in the research, development, and/or manufacturing of an innovative clean transportation technology and/or has undertaken an innovative approach to implementation of such product.
Alternative Fuel Supplier of the Year
To recognize the Michigan fuel marketer/supplier that has proactively marketed and sold alternative fuels in Michigan and has shown a dedication to ensuring high quality fuels.
Public Fleet Manager of the Year
To recognize the Michigan fleet manager employed by a city, township, county, or other public entity who has exhibited leadership in encouraging the usage and deployment of alternative fuels, alternative fuel or hybrid vehicles, idle reduction, and/or fuel economy practices in a fleet.
Private Fleet Manager of the Year
To recognize the Michigan fleet manager employed by a private company who has exhibited leadership in encouraging the usage and deployment of alternative fuels, alternative fuel or hybrid vehicles, idle reduction, and/or fuel economy practices in a fleet.
Clean City of the Year
To recognize the Michigan city that has demonstrated commitment to clean transportation solutions through its purchase and usage of alternative fuels, alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles, and/or through adoption of fuel economy practices or idle reduction policies.
Michigan Clean Transportation Community Leader Award
To recognize the Michigan citizen who has shown leadership, creativity, and perseverance through successfully encouraging the usage of clean transportation solutions by the public, organizations, and/or companies in his or her community.
Media Clean Transportation Awareness Award
To recognize the Michigan-based publication, radio or TV station, website, or media personality, that actively covered clean transportation issues raising awareness and understanding among the public.
