About The Organizers
Clean Energy Coalition
Clean Energy Coalition is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting clean energy technologies as a way to create healthier, energy independent communities. CEC was formed by the stakeholders of the Ann Arbor Area Clean Cities Coalition as a new non-profit entity to house and expand upon the work of the Ann Arbor Clean Cities program. To date, CEC has successfully managed and completed over 30 state and federal grants valued at over $4,000,000.
CEC’s major programs include implementation of the Biofuels Infrastructure Grants (BIG) program, which provides funds to Michigan public service stations to install or convert fuel delivery systems to sell high blend E85 and/or biodiesel blends of B20 or higher; Michigan Energy $ense, which supports comprehensive, whole house energy retrofits in existing homes as well as he construction of new homes built to the Energy StarTM standard; and implementing the U.S DOE Solar American Cities Project, which pursues complementary activities in R&D and market transformation to reduce cost through deployment. CEC has multi-year experience organizing high-impact environmental stewardship and clean energy technology events including the Ann Arbor Earth Day Festival, Remodel Green, and the Ann Arbor Green Fair.

Greater Lansing Area Clean Cities (GLACC)
Greater Lansing Area Clean Cities is is driving mid-Michigan's alternative fuels and vehicles market accelerator. As part of the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities Program, GLACC facilitates connections and promotes local efforts to advance alternative fuels and vehicles usage. Stakeholders include public and private fleets, corporations, nonprofit organizations, governments, utilities, and others with an interest in pursuing the latest in clean transportation technology.
GLACC hosts meetings and workshops, produces newsletters and e-news bulletins, and engages stakeholders in a variety of other ways to inform, educate, and implement clean transportation projects in mid-Michigan. We're vigorously addressing the challenges of achieving stable fuel prices through a diversity of fuel options, and a greater ability to produce clean fuels domestically and sustainably. Today, many public and private vehicle fleets are making the choice to use alternative fuels, such as biofuels, and more fueling stations are offering alternatives to petroleum fuels. Across the transportation sector efforts are growing to reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions. Together, we're making mid-Michigan a leader in clean transportation.
